PRP Hair Restoration

By including platelet-rich plasma in your hair restoration therapy, you are allowing for the ideal circumstances to see incredible hair results. PRP encourages cellular repair and regeneration of the cells responsible for hair growth and resilience.

At Kumar Aesthetics Institute, we leverage our expertise in regenerative medicine and aesthetic procedures, combining them to create the opportunity for incredible hair restoration results.

Scientifically Proven

Researchers found that subjects experienced an average growth of 33.6 hairs per cm2 and an increase in total hair density of almost 46 hairs per cm2 in the areas treated with PRP. See the full article here.

Easy and Convenient

PRP hair treatment does not require any downtime or recovery. You can drive and return to your normal activities immediately after the procedure.

Minimal Discomfort

Because PRP treatment does not involve surgery, you should experience only minor discomfort, similar to undergoing blood work at your routine doctor’s appointments.

What Is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)?

Your blood consists of solid cells, including red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets, which are suspended in a liquid called plasma. The platelets contain hundreds of “growth factors,” which are proteins that play a vital role in the body’s natural healing process.

Kumar Aesthetics Institute will take the patient’s blood and spin it in a centrifuge, which separates the different components. We discard red blood cells and much of the plasma, leaving a high concentration of platelets and growth factors. The PRP can then be re-injected back into areas of complaint to accelerate the healing process.

PRP is a complementary therapy with stem cells. We find it can enhance the recovery benefits for our more severe cases. PRP can also be used for aesthetic treatments as well such as hair restoration and facials.

What is the Difference Between PRP and Stem Cells?

PRP is an excellent way to “jump-start” the healing process. Healing depends on platelets that are rich in growth factors. Platelets injected into injury sites release growth factors that ultimately attract stem cells. While PRP may help recruit a few stem cells, using stem cells themselves is a much more advanced procedure with different considerations.

EXAMPLE: If PRP is like fertilizer for your yard, then stem cells are the actual grass seed.

Additionally, PRP is effective for tendonitis, muscle strains, ligament sprains, and minor injuries. Stem cells are great for advanced conditions such as degenerative arthritis, cartilage damage, and rotator cuff or labor tears, etc.
